Hi everyone! We are now in the month of May. Can you believe it? I bet some of you even know how many days of school are left.......22 in case you were wondering.

April and I were talking about this summer and planning some classes since we won't have anything to do while school's out. Ha! Did you hear that sarcasm?

Seriously though! We want to have some different classes this summer so I thought I would ask you, our customers, what you would like to see us offer. Please send us a message and give us some ideas.

It's not even 100 degrees yet and our brains are already slightly fried:)

Basic Grey's Page-of-the-Month Club

Each month we will have a class tocreate a two-page layout. The kits arefilled with Basic Grey's newest paper collections and embellishments and I know you will get excited about using these products! The kit also will contain a full set of instructions and color photo of thecompleted layout for your reference. And you know what's even better? There will be plenty of materials left over for you to make more layouts or cards or whatever suits your fancy:)

Wewill hold monthly classes, one during the week and one on Saturday, and you will work on the layout using the instructions provided by Basic Grey or you can give it your own flair. Either way you will leave with something fabulous! If you are not ableto make it to the monthly class you may pick up your kit anytimeafter the class date. You may also choose to pick upyour kit and not attend class - that's up to you!
The Basic Grey POTM Club will consist of a monthly class from March 2010 through February 2011. If you complete all 12 classes you will receive an exclusive Basic Grey 12x12 album at the end of the program. The classes will be $25 each and there are only 12 spots available.
Please come by and sign up as soon as you can to make sure you don't miss this fabulous event! Sign ups for each class will be offered to the original 12 participants first. You should consider this a commitment for all 12 classes although you don't have to pay for all of them up front. If you don't get in the first class and we have an opening in a later class, we'll send out an email and it will be first come, first serve. However, you won't be able to get the layouts you have missed unless by chance someone doesn't use theirs. It's important to sign up now!

The Basic Grey Page of theMonth Club will have it's first class of March on Saturday, March 13 at 1:00 pm and the next class will be Thursday, March 25 at 6:00 pm.

Basic Grey Sugar Rush Layouts class - If you love Basic Grey or you love kits that show how to put it all together then this is a class for you! You will make two 2-page layouts in this class. That's a total of 4 full pages!!

Friday, Jan 29 - 6 pm

Expanding File Workshop - We don't have any pictures to post of this project yet. Sorry! But this is definitely a workshop meaning it's not a class you will finish within an hour or two. Come by the store and see a sample of one that Tabatha made a while back. We hope to have ours on display within the next week. We'll definitely post pictures as we get them completed.
The class is $25 with a $10 store credit. Join us in making this neat project!

Saturday, Jan 30 - 1pm

Layers of Your Life make-up class - It's not too late to join in!
This will be your chance to make up the first 4 classes that you have missed. The cost is $20 and you will learn the techniques we used for the January classes. We will also explain to you how to do your covers.

Monday, Feb 1 - 6 pm

Layers of Your Life class - This will be week #5 of this class. It's $5 a class and you will be asked to bring most of your own supplies. When you come we will add your email to our class list so we can send you information ahead of time. NO CLASS TOPICS WILL BE GIVEN OUT UNTIL CLASS. Sorry:(

Tuesday, Feb 2 - 6 pm

Basic Grey Sugar Rush Valentines class - You will make 8 wonderful Valentines cards in this class. These will be perfect for some very special people in your life.

New from Making Memories.....

A new Christmas line from Making Memories has arrived! It's called Mistletoe and it has some very nice double-sided papers along with some foil and flocked papers. The accompanying embellishments are really nice, too. The acetate journaling book and the tapes are especially unique.

Wealso received a lot of Making Memories acrylic paints in the 2 ouncebottles along with the foam brushes and some sanding blocks. Some ofyou may have never used these and those of you have may not have seenthese in a long time. We will be using these in our ongoing Layers ofYour Life class for 2010. Please be sure to sign up for one ourkick-off classes at the end of December. We are going to have a lot offun learning new techniques and using new products.

A GYPSY made it's way to the store!

The Gypsy is the the newest tool created by Provo Craft and it accompanies any one of the Cricuts - the original, the Create, or the big Expression. It's a handheld, digital device that stores all your cartridges on it and you can use your Cricut without having to hunt down the cartridge and the keypad to go with it.

I got one a month or so ago and I love it!! I can plan out what I want to cut and save it as a file and come back to it anytime. I got a car charger so I can even work on my projects while I'm waiting for my daughter to finish dance class!

Another great thing about it is that you can see all the cartridges they have and what features are on each one. Your cartridges that you link to it will be in bold writing so you know which ones you can use. I like to look through them so I can see which cartridge I want next:) You can weld letters/pictures together so they make one solid word or border. You can also rotate items so you can fit more on a page. You can tell it you want your word to be 2 inches tall and 5 inches wide, if you want! You can also put words and shapes from different cartridges together and cut them all out at one time. I could go on and on.......but I won't.

One thing I must add though......do not let anyone use your cartridges and link them to THEIR Gypsy!!!! When you hook up the cartridge to your Gypsy and you tell it to "link", it will ask if you want to proceed and permanently link THAT cartridge to THAT Gypsy. Provo Craft would be shooting themselves in the foot if they made it where one person could buy a cartridge and then install it on 20 different Gypsies. Then no one would be buying cartridges!

I can't rave enough about the Gypsy. If you have lots of cartridges or you plan to buy many more, this may just be the perfect tool for you. And if you buy one, it does count as a qualifying purchase for our Cricut Club. This means that you will get to come to special Cricut classes without paying a class fee and you get 25% off the regular price of a cartridge. That's a great deal considering that we can order the exact cartridge you want (as long as it is in stock:) and you don't have to run all over the place looking for it!!

We only have one in stock but if you would like one (or you've asked Santa for one), please let us know so we can order it for you. Pre-payment may be required for the Gypsy or Cricut.

All Boy Workshop

Introducing a new monthly workshop. Many mothers that have little boys have requested we do a workshop to inspire and create pages for their little boys. I've decided to start a monthly layout workshop to make little boy pages. Our first workshop will be on Monday, November 17th, at 6 p.m. We will be using Prima's new little boy line for this two-page layout. You will need your paper trimmer, scissors, and adhesive.

New Cosmo Cricket Haunted Collection

Wow! I had so much fun creating this two-page spread this afternoon. I had a vision and sat down in my new scrapbook room and went crazy. I used the new Cosmo Cricket Haunted collection for this layout. The flowers are from Prima and I used bling and buttons from my stash to embellish the centers of them. I distressed the edges of some of the papers and inked all edges black. I did a ton of layering with the paper and flowers. A strip of ribbon finished the spread off nicely. Come by the store to see it in person. I have everything you need in the store to scraplift this one. Let me know if you're interested in doing a workshop on this layout. I will schedule it!
